The Brookwood, Atlanta’s first LEED designed high-rise building, is actually helping its residents breathe easier this seasonal allergy season. With its Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) Air System, the air inside each home at The Brookwood is ventilated by continuously drawing in pre-conditioned outside air and exhausting stale air, instead of re-circulating inside air like most houses and condos. This helps those who suffer from air-borne allergies because not only are they constantly receiving fresh air, they are also receiving filtered fresh air.

The unique ventilation system (The Brookwood is the only building using this system in Atlanta) also reduces the building’s impact on the Earth, by re-using the water that cools the system as it circulates through it – rather than constantly running electricity to cool the air through coils. In fact, the ventilation system is only one of hundreds of green features incorporated into The Brookwood, despite its unassuming façade on Peachtree Street.

That doesn’t mean you can go jump in a pile of leaves and not expect to get a stuffy nose, but it does mean that allergy sufferers might be a little happier living in a healthy breathing environment like The Brookwood.
